Is it free to search for attorneys?

Yes. Searching and submitting a request is free. You only pay an attorney if you hire them and they charge you for legal services. Lexfora takes no referral fee.

How do I contact an attorney?

Tell us what you need and where you need it. Where we have an attorney who matches, we put you in touch directly — your message goes to them, not to a call centre. Where we don't yet, we tell you that plainly and go looking.

What does “verified” actually mean?

It means we matched the attorney to their bar record and recorded the date we checked. Identity confirmation and any certified-specialisation claim are tracked as separate checks. Verified is not a recommendation — we check information, we don't endorse attorneys. Always confirm current licence status with the state bar before you hire.

Which areas does Lexfora cover?

Coverage is being built market by market, so availability varies by location and practice area. If nothing matches your search yet, submit a request and we'll tell you what we can find rather than leaving you at an empty results page.

What if I can't afford an attorney?

Tell us your budget in your request. Some attorneys offer free initial consultations, payment plans, flat fees or sliding-scale rates, and some accept legal-aid referrals. If your matter needs legal aid, we'll point you to the relevant service for your state.

How quickly will I hear back?

We don't publish an average response time, because we won't quote a number we can't yet stand behind. You'll get an acknowledgement as soon as your request is in, and we'll tell you where things stand rather than leaving you guessing.
